ATV Safety Course

The Guilford County Sheriff's Office and the Greensboro Police Department and the North Carolina 4-H Council have partnered to teach the ATV Safety Institute's ATV RiderCourse. The ATV RiderCourse is a half-day, hands-on training course, which meets the North Carolina ATV safety certification requirements.

If you purchase a new ATV, you may be eligible for free training. To find out, contact the ATV Enrollment Express at (800) 887-2887. Those not eligible for free training may take the course for a reasonable fee.

Effective October 1, 2006, every ATV operator born on or after January 1, 1990 must possess a safety certificate indicating successful completion of an ATV safety course sponsored or approved by the ATV Safety Institute.
