2015 Operation Stop Arm

Guilford County Sheriff BJ Barnes reports the Sheriff’s Office is coordinating with local law enforcement agencies operating within Guilford County and the Guilford County School system to organize a joint agency school bus initiative. According to the Guilford County School system’s website, 41,143 students are transported on 609 Guilford County School buses every day. In one day, these buses travel a total of 53,685 miles. Every school year multiple complaints of citizens speeding in school zones and passing stopped school buses are reported to law enforcement. Unfortunately, some of these instances result in death or serious injury.

District 2 Office

Guilford County Sheriff BJ Barnes is pleased to announce the relocation of the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office District 2 Substation. The current office at 6307; suite B, Burlington Road, Whitsett, NC will move operations to its new facility at 5440 Millstream Road, Greensboro, NC beginning Monday, July 20th at 8:00 a.m. The phone numbers for the public to contact this office will remain the same. An Open House, to view the facility, will be scheduled and announced at a later date.

Randleman outbuilding burglaries

Sheriff BJ Barnes reports that between Friday night, July 11, 2015 and Saturday morning, July 12, 2015, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Steepleview Drive neighborhood in Randleman, NC in reference to several outbuilding burglaries.

Sheriff’s Youth Academy Now Enrolling

Guilford County youth curious about a career in law enforcement, now have a place to go for answers. The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office Youth Academy will present subjects condensed from the training curriculum for law enforcement officers.

Sheriff’s Citizen Academy Begins Registration

Why do sworn officers of the law carry firearms, and when are they legally used? How does a jail function? Exactly what kind of force may be used to restrain an arrestee on the street and why? Pleasant Garden Burglaries

Sheriff BJ Barnes reports the Guilford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a residential breaking and entering at 6501 Glenbrooke Drive Pleasant Garden, N.C. Bennie Lee Hudson, Sr. reports on June 15, 2015 unknown suspects entered his house and stole numerous foreign and domestic coins and paper currency along with jewelry and a flat screen television.
